Venue
Magglingen/Macolin is a small village on a hill above Biel Bienne, with a large national sports campus. Accommodation, canteens and sports halls are all within easy walking distance.
Name: “Nationales Sportzentrum Magglingen” or “Centre national de sport de Macolin”
Town: “Magglingen” or “Macolin”
Street: “Hauptstrasse 247”
How to get there by Public Transport
Magglingen is accessible from Europe through all major airports in Switzerland by road or rail.
From Biel/Bienne railway station, it is an easy 10 minute walk to the Magglingenbahn/Funi Macolin cable car (or 3 minutes on bus 11, twice per hour). From there, the cable car takes 6 – 8 minutes up to Magglingen/Macolin (4 times per hour, twice per hour in the evening).
Be aware that there are two cable cars in the vicinity, make sure you get the one to Magglingen/Macolin, not the one to Leubringen / Évilard.
The dojo, accommodation and canteen are all within 5-10 minutes walking distance. Please note that the walk to the dojo is rather steep. Alternatively, a bus free of charge runs every 30 minutes between the Magglingen/Macolin cable car station and the dojos. You will find details in the seminar booklet that you will receive at registration.

Registration
Registration takes place from 16.00 to 20.00 on the day before the start of each seminar. The registration desks are on the ground floor of the registration hall/Hauptgebäude.
Participant lists will be displayed on the walls in the registration hall. First find your participation number on the lists, then go to the respective
registration desk.
At registration you will receive the seminar booklet containing details such as the daily schedule. Those with accommodation on the BASPO campus will receive their room key badge, which also serves as the meal pass and allows access to facilities.
Car Park
The campus car parks are limited and cost 10 Swiss francs per day. All car parking must be paid in advance at the machines. The short stay car park next to the cable car station may only be used during registration.
During the seminar, parking shall be in car parks 7 and 8, near the dojos (Sport-Toto-Halle, Alte Sporthalle). Free parking is available at car park 11 at 15-20 minutes walking distance from the sports halls.
Self Catering
Self-catering participants will need to bring their own picnic each day or purchase lunch at the BASPO canteen. There are no nearby restaurants or convenience stores, and only limited snack / drink vending machines. No refrigeration facilities are available, neither at the sports halls, nor in the BASPO accommodation.
Drinking water is freely available.
Health &
Security
Please be advised that the BASPO has a strict non-smoking policy. Smoking is only allowed in the designated areas.
As it can be rather warm in August and the halls and shajos will be crowded, it is crucial and expected that participants adhere to basic hygiene rules and respect proper etiquette.
